The next step for Invictus Hi-Fi after the release of their Market Deities album earlier in 2021 is a video for the bonus track “Delete”.
With a warbly synth melody that recalls the retro analogue stylings of Add N to (X) or Cavern Of Anti-matter, the band note that with its “crunching beats and a sonically warped re-edit of a pivotal 1970’s interview, this track was created to convey the sense that, even in a digital age, nothing is permanent – including the truth”.
To prove their point, Invictus Hi-Fi intend removing the video and all other traces of the track on 15 September 2021, and as its title indicates, delete all copies of it from their hard drives too.
