Happy Robots Records have announced the release on 24 September 2021 of the new full-length album from Mood Taeg, about whose Exophora disc Mr Olivetti noted “an obvious love for all things motorik and German-influenced, but reflected in a modern and rather charmingly effervescent style that brims with repetitive joy” at Freq.
The title of their second album, Anaphora, is a “reference to that which preceded or came before” and, like the name of the band and the wider artistic collective which it is part of, takes note of the terminology of functional linguistics. The LP turns the trio’s attention in new directions, as they report, moving on “from the subtle vocal textures found on Exophora, to stronger, more prominent vocal elements featuring poets (Christopher Logue), cultural critics (Michael Parenti), film makers (Alan P Chilchier), and trade union activists (Jimmy Reid), who reflect their political, social, and cultural views”.
