Regular Rednetic recording artist Zainetica is back with another album-length dose of his progressive synth-based hymns to modernity; the subtle, scuffling beats and the warm sense of movement evincing a sweetness and sleekness that leaves contemporaries trailing in his sky blue wake.
There is the feeling of a whole new language, a revision of electronic beat-driven music with the dust and grime of our current existence swept away by these future forward selections. There is a real softness, like musical bubbles bursting, coating the atmosphere with waves of dancing light which move over you gently and effortlessly.
There is some Eastern mystery in certain tones on Transmission Vectors and I could imagine Richard Barbieri nodding in agreement over some of the moments, a light breeze moving the air in an abandoned temple of the future. The suggestive, hypnotic repetition is just perfect as it directs you ever forward, with just a nod to exotica in some of the synth sounds; a rediscovery of textures but with cotton cloud-like sweeps that act as a backdrop along with the deep bass groove. In fact this album really moves and delights in its rhythmic subtleties, but never conveys less than a highly polished metallic sheen. The fact that these polyrhythmic, almost scattershot beats support it is an interesting mix, coupled with the space streaks that tear past on some unknown trajectory is just an added bonus. They understand the power of a simple, repetitive motif, and as most of the tracks here come in around the five-minute mark, there is plenty of opportunity for the listener to be hooked as the backdrop slowly evolves and the intricate beats move like constantly shifting sand.I can’t think of any real precedents, although there is something Tron-like in the imagery and there is something of Bowery Electric in that sleek sense of remove from everyday hubbub. The air feels clean here, untroubled by obvious human touc; yet we know that there is somebody at work constructing all this. It is a great addition to his canon and one that definitely requires further exploration with so many fresh textures to explore.
